On Friday, June 24, the current Supreme Court of the United States overturned Roe v Wade.

The end of the historic landmark ruling means a catastrophic rollback of human rights for tens of millions of Americans.

Across the nation, millions are engaging in protests, including beloved Full House actor Jodie Sweetin.

Protests are often met with state violence. A haunting video shows police throwing Jodie to the ground.

This chilling or unsurprising video circulated over the weekend.

The journalist who witnessed this happen, Mike Ade, shared a video of Jodie Sweetin standing on a freeway embankment.

There, she is speaking through her megaphone at her fellow protesters.

Then, the LAPD officers are seen grabbing Jodie, who is 5-foot-6, hurling the 40-year-old actress onto the asphalt below.

Despite her involuntary dive onto the freeway, Jodie stands back up beside outraged protesters.

While police violence is often far more severe, this is obviously unacceptable.

The crowd knows it, too.

One of the protesters yells “what the f–k is wrong with you guys?’ during the video.

Jodie leads her fellow protesters in a chant of “No justice, no peace.”

“It pained me to see @JodieSweetin thrown to the ground by members of the LAPD,” Mike Ade wrote.

He noted that police met Jodie with violence “as she was trying to lead a group of peaceful protestors.”

Jodie’s goal had been to lead the crowd “away from the freeway…SMH.”

“@LAPDHQ what are y’all doing?” Ade then asked.

The question is, of course, rhetorical.

“Jodi is the definition of a real one and fortunately she’s okay!” Ade shared.

Jodie Sweetin could have had a killer look, but her black leather jacket ruined it.

“But for others who choose to protest today,” he advised, “move with caution and keep your head on swivel.”

Ade then warned: “It’s going to be a very long summer.”

Jodie also shared the video on her own Instagram page.

“Love everyone out there in the streets fighting for what’s right,” she captioned.

We are glad that Jodie is okay.

We know that not all peaceful protesters are able to get up and walk after an encounter with police.

It is likely that the police did not recognize Jodie when they attacked her.

Her best known television role was decades ago. She is no longer a child actress.

Jodie also gave a statement to People following the viral video.

“Our activism will continue until our voices are heard and action is taken,” she declared.

“This will not deter us,” Jodie vowed.

“We will continue fighting for our rights,” Jodie affirmed.

“We are not free until ALL of us are free,” she then emphasized.

Jodie is a great example of how not all activists are directly impacted by human rights rollbacks.

Like 13% of all Americans, Jodie lives in California, which is now an abortion sanctuary state.

California is not alone. Additionally, numerous other states have no laws banning abortion.

But injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.

Not everyone has the time and money to travel across state lines, especially when there is a threat of prosecution. Jodie is right.
